A strong 6.0 magnitude earthquake, it’s epicenter approximately 22 miles from Borgo Panigale and the Ducati factory, struck Italy this morning at 4:04 a.m. (0204 GMT) and was followed by a series of jolting aftershocks. At least two of them reached magnitude 5.1, sowing fresh panic, further damaging already weakened buildings and causing more structures to collapse. No significant damage has been reported at Ducati.
Much of the serious damage seems to have centered in the city of Ferrara and it’s most important building, the Castello di Ferrara sustained serious damage.
Five deaths have been reported, including a 106 year old woman, killed in her bed by a falling roofbeam at her house in the Italian countryside.
