Notice anything funny with Facebook lately?

So there’s this deal going on with Facebook…….
As you may or may not know already,  Facebook is opting to increase revenue by asking pages (like Ducati.net and Ducati Club of South Florida, or maybe a page you run yourself) to pay to “promote” their posts. As a result, only a small percentage of people who “like” a page in order to know what info is being shared there, are actually being sent the updates now. We guess only about 20% of what used to be 100% is getting sent to people that “liked” us and used to see it up until a few weeks ago.  Hey, it’s a free service and they have a business problem. But their problem doesn’t have to be our problem. So if you wish to remain in the loop, there is a simple fix.

“GET NOTIFICATIONS.”

Go to the Ducati.net Facebook Page or the DOC South Florida Page or the DesmoPro Page (or any other page you like to follow) and hover your mouse over the “Liked” button, then turn on “Get Notifications.” That will fix the problem, at least new posts about the pertinant stuff we are working hard to share will receive a notification, even if it doesn’t always show up in your newsfeed.  Hey, it’s better than nothing right? It’s Facebook’s call but like a lot of things they do that we don’t always love, they leave a door and we hope you take the time to use it.
For what it’s worth, the more often you comment on, share, and like posts on the pages you like, the more likely they are to show up in your feed on a regular basis.

UPDATE: Facebook states they also changed the spam settings which had a big effect on how the post is distributed in the  algorithm, so the best way to get the info you are looking for is to comment or “like” the feeds you want to see, as well as the get notifications button.  It’s not all about the pay to promote deal, but the bottom line is since Sept page “reach” has changed dramatically for everybody. And we don’t know what we aren’t getting sent, right?
