The Valentines Day Conundrum

Posted by Vicki Smith on February 11th, 2013 at 11:53 am

Romance in Red. Does gasoline count as aromatherapy???

Inspiration for this story was hard to find. I feel incredibly lucky – my sweetie likes motorcycles as much as I do. Even better, he dislikes specific mandated gift giving. No holidays, birthdays or anniversaries to deal with, we gift and celebrate what we want, when we want.  It takes a lot of the heat off, I gotta tell you.  None the less, there’s this little holiday coming up and it’s color is red. So for the rest of you guys and gals still looking for a solution, here’s what I think might fit the bill towards some of those Ducati Dreams and make February 14th a Ducati Red Letter Day…

Museo Ducati: Six Decades of Classic Motorcycles of the Official Ducati Museum. Chris Jonnum (with photographer Peter Harholdt)museo-ducati-cov

A trip to Bologna might not be in the budget for every Ducati lover but it’s a rare one that doesn’t have a trip to the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale on the bucket list.  Next best has to be this excellent look at the Ducati factory museum and it’s racing history. Years in the making and with the full cooperation of Ducati and staff this is as close as you are going to get to a guided tour from the museum curator himself.  Available for $39.95 on Amazon.com

Ducati Historical Pashmina Scarf

I love this neutral colored and practically suitable for framing neck warmer because it’s the perfect combination of Ducati history and Italian style personified. Available in the DucatiUSA.com web store for $39.95

Gift a Rider Fan Club Membership

In 2013 Ducati has 4 official riders, a test rider and 2 supported SBK racers and most of them have fanclubs.  Typically the perks vs the costs are a pretty good deal. Membership in the Ben Spies fan club includes member card, shirt, hat, flag, key chain and lanyard, all for 30 euros, and might even get you invited to a private fan event on race weekend.  To join the Ben Spies Fan Club
