- Ticket package includes special benefits and perks for Ducati enthusiasts
Ducati fans hoping for a return to the fun of the 2014 Ducati Island got their wish today. There really is something about the city of Austin that makes the MotoGP there special and Ducati Island, for Ducati fans, is truly the icing on the cake.
Never been to a Ducati Island? It starts with a special grandstand ticket that includes a goody bag and a dedicated viewing area in turn 12 for Ducati fans to join as a community and cheer on the record SIX Ducati riders that will be on track in 2015. If you are lucky enough to be able to ride to the race on your Ducati that’s when the full experience comes into place – special Ducati parking right in the middle of COTA’s central Grand Plaza and some parade laps on the track as well are included in the package. Throw in a Ducati dedicated gear check, a Ducati owner hospitality area, and 5 Ducati fashion shows featuring dancing and acrobatics that would make Milan Fashion Week jealous. There’s a Ducati store as well so bring money and get shopping early because the styles and selections, as vast as they might be go fast. Typically the Island experience includes vendors, a Make-A-Wish auction supported by the Ducati teams so there might be a shot at something rarely seen for the wall back home and finally, all the receipts from the store go into a drawing on Sunday. The winner of that gets the ticket that can’t be bought – two garage passes and two spots right inside the Ducati team garage box to watch the race with the team from. (I swear, it’s true).
Never been to COTA? Well you are in for a treat. It’s a state of the art facility, with great viewing, a live concert (this year Cheap Trick is playing) lots of places to relax, grab a bite or a beverage and there is even a huge tower you can go up and take photos of the whole track. It’s quite the place.
Never been to Austin? This my friends is a truly first rate party town. Stay downtown if possible and enjoy the food, music, pedicabs and the Friday and Saturday “Hand Built Show” a first rate custom bike show organized by Revival Cycles. Take a trip over to Ducati Austin, pick up one of the numerous great t-shirts they specialize in and if you time it right you might even run into a Ducati Corse rider or two.
