Test Ducati’s top sportbike on Europe’s top circuits

•       Ducati and DG Sport join forces for seven great European Track Day events
•       Special test ride opportunities on Ducati’s 1199 Panigale Superbike
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy) 18 March 2013 – Throughout 2013, Ducati and DG Sport will join forces to provide exciting test ride opportunities aboard the award-winning Ducati 1199 Panigale Superbike at top race circuits around Europe.
DG Sport is one of Europe’s leading Track Day organisers and, with over ten years of experience in putting together top race circuit packages, are perfectly positioned to provide events for all levels of riding experience on  circuits  such as Aragon, Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, Brno and Misano. In addition to the track sessions, lucky participants at these events will have the unique opportunity to take part in the 1199 Panigale Experience, an unforgettable opportunity to sample Ducati’s top-of-the-range sport bike in its ideal environment.
The 1199 Panigale set new benchmarks in motorcycle design with the most powerful twin-cylinder engine in the world integrated perfectly into a super lightweight and innovative monocoque chassis. Its highly impressive 195hp is cleverly controlled by three electronic Riding Modes, offering three combinations of a number of top-flight technologies. The latest-generation sports ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Electronic Suspension, Ducati Quick-Shift, race-derived Ducati Engine Brake Control and Ride-by-Wire are all programmed to provide smooth and continuous electronic assistance, ensuring an exciting and confidence-inspiring experience.
Each 20-25 minute test ride session at the events will be preceeded by a 15-minute technical briefing, with the additional value of one instructor for every three riders. The instructors, all highly qualified by the Ducati Riding Experience, will follow participants throught the briefing and track sessions, ensuring that all are guaranteed maximum safety and professionalism.
The events, which carry a discount for Desmo Owners Clubs’ members, will also have a Ducati Caffè providing refreshments and relaxation to all Ducati Card carriers and their guests. All event and reservation information is available at the Bikers’Days website Bikersdays.com.

If you like trucks, this will get your attention

Special Ducati equipment:

  • Black leather for seats, door panels and steering wheel, all embellished with red stitching and Ducati Corse logos
  •  Carbon dashboard elements
  •  Exclusive Ducati Corse colour
Seven MAN TGX 18.480 tractors have been delivered today in Borgo Panigale (Bologna) in the presence of Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding Spa – Giancarlo Codazzi, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus AG – Paolo Ciabatti, MotoGP Project Director Ducati Corse and Andrea Dovizioso, official rider.
The supply will be the “driving force” behind the Ducati Team in the MotoGP World Championship and will ensure transport of the semitrailers, both of the racing team (i.e. motorcycles, workshop service and parts) and hospitality units to all the circuits of the European season.
Seven MAN TGX 18.480 tractors, with exclusive Ducati Corse red color, are the  top-of-the-range vehicles of the German manufacturer: with XXL cab, the largest in its class, 480 hp (353 kW) 13-liter and six-cylinder in-line common rail turbocharged diesel engine and 12-speed automated gearbox. The tractors are “full optional” and include the following safety equipment: xenon headlights, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) that automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to the vehicle ahead and LGS (Lane Guard System ) that alerts the driver when he is driving over the line of the lane. Attention to safety is one of basic elements of MAN Truck & Bus philosophy, even more so when you have the responsibility to transport  goods as precious as racing bikes.
The MAN TGX tractors have been particularly equipped internally, with large use of black leather for seats, door panels and steering wheel, all embellished with red stitching. The upper part of the dashboard is finished in “carbon”, and last but not least for driver comfort and entertainment the MAN Truck Media Advanced and MAN sound system for high quality music playback and a satellite navigator specific for commercial vehicles.
The MotoGP World Championship is the highest category of motorcycle road racing in circuits; the 2013 edition will take place over 18 rounds in four continents, including 11 races in seven major European countries (Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain, Holland and Czech Republic). Ducati’s involvement in MotoGP began in 2003, with Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss, who took the Ducati Desmosedici to its debut in Japan. In the last decade the Borgo Panigale Team has obtained 33 victories, winning the world Riders’ and Manufacturers’ title in 2007 with Australian Casey Stoner. This year, the Ducati Team will participate in the MotoGP championship with Andrea Dovizioso, the 26 year-old Italian rider from Forli on his debut with the Desmosedici GP13 and Nicky Hayden, 31 year-old American from Kentucky, in his fifth season with Ducati colors.

Laguna Seca and Austin grandstand tickets are available now. Visit DucatiUSA.com for details…

As the 2013 MotoGP season warms-up for the opening race of the year, preparations for Ducati Grandstands move into full swing ready for fans to support full-factory Ducati Team riders, Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden and factory-supported Pramac Racing Team riders, Andrea Iannone and Ben Spies.

Helping to inject Ducati passion into the series since 2003, Ducati Grandstands 2013 will roar into action under the floodlights of Qatar on 7 April, the highly-anticipated season opener. The brand-new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, USA will host the next Ducati Grandstand on 21 April, an event sure to be buzzing with local support for Ben Spies aboard his Pramac Racing Team Ducati Desmosedici GP13.
These first events will set the standard for Ducatisti to arrive en masse for the “home” Italian races of Mugello and Misano, before continuing around the world to tracks such as Le Mans, Assen, Laguna Seca, Silverstone, Valencia and the Sachsenring in Germany.
Ducati offer fans the opportunity to experience the thrill of a live Grand Prix and, with the “grandstand kit” of T-shirt and flag, the chance to paint the world’s most famous racetracks red with Ducati passion. Lucky ticket-holders will gain one of the best viewpoints on the racetrack and enjoy the additional benefits of reserved bike parking and secure storage to check-in riding gear.
All Ducati Grandstand information, including details on how to purchase tickets is available in the “Exerience” section of the official Ducati.com website or the national Ducati websites of participating countries.
