Cal Crutchlow (Ducati Team #35)
"My hand is getting better every day, but I still have some pain and it's definitely going to be difficult to ride this weekend. I'll try and see how it is from Friday and do the best job I can. Jerez is surely one of the toughest circuits to come back and ride at after my crash. It's a really great track, and the crowd are great as well, but really I'm just excited about joining up with the team again and getting back on the bike."

I know, that's a dumb headline right? Of course it's a business, all sports are business. But MotoGP with it's colorful machines and traveling circus aspect has moments when it's possible to just enjoy the sporting aspect of the game itself. This video, which is a recap of the final Jerez official test is a remarkably candid peek behind the curtain of getting ready for business as it will be offered in 2013. Teams have been restructured and with that new personalities and demeanors must be determined. In some cases even re-invented. Clown, crown prince, steely champion, these are all hats on a virtual shelf that must be selected and put on and this season more than most there are many new hats available.
For me there is much to see in this small piece of beautiful video but it all pales to about three seconds of footage at 1:49 seconds. At that moment, the future of the sport in 2013, becomes to me, crystal clear.
Can't wait to get racing and watch it all unfold.

The final winter MotoGP test started this morning with the first of three days of work at the Spanish circuit in Jerez de la Frontera. The weather was sunny with springtime temperatures until about two hours from the end, but it was also windy enough to affect all the riders. Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden worked on the Desmosedici GP12’s setup, overseen by their respective crew chiefs and Technical Director Filippo Preziosi.
Nicky Hayden finished sixth and Valentino Rossi was ninth, but both riders hope to improve the setup over the course of the next two days and to reduce the gap to the front....more

The final day of testing in Malaysia ended on a strong positive note for the Pramac Racing rider thanks to improved weather conditions that allowed the team to work productively on Thursday.
Héctor Barberá completed the day as the fastest Ducati rider on track at Sepang with an excellent sixth fastest time of 2’01.231. The result was very encouraging for the Pramac Racing team, who appreciated being able to see how the times and the performance of their rider improved on par with the work being done in the box.
At this test, the team worked with both bikes, focusing on developing two types of set-up, chassis, suspension, electronics in search of the best possible mix for racing...more
